Who we are
ClearGo is the data controller for the information described here. That means we decide what is collected and what happens to it.
- Address: Reservoir Cottage, Birchen Grove, London, NW9 8SA
- Email: hello@cleargo.co.uk
If you have a question about anything on this page, email us. We answer the same working day wherever we can.
What we collect
When you book a clearance
The booking form asks for:
- Your first name and surname
- Your email address and phone number
- The collection address, including street, town or city, and postcode
- Your preferred collection date and time window
- A description of what needs clearing, and the approximate size of the job
- Any photos you choose to upload
Photos are optional. They help us quote accurately, but a written description alone is enough. Please avoid photographing documents, screens, or anything showing personal details you would rather not send us.
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, email address, the service you are interested in, and your message. A phone number is optional.
Automatically, when you visit the site
Our hosting provider records standard server information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you requested, and the time of the request. Our analytics and advertising tools record how you move through the site. That is covered under Cookies and analytics below.
What we never ask for
We do not take card or bank details through this website, and we do not ask for identity documents, dates of birth, or any special category data such as health information. If a form or an email appears to ask you for payment details in our name, do not respond to it, and please tell us.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
| What we do | Legal basis under UK GDPR |
|---|---|
| Prepare a quote, confirm availability for your postcode, and reply to your enquiry | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Carry out a booked clearance, including getting to the address and contacting you on the day | Performance of our contract with you |
| Keep waste transfer records and meet our waste duty of care | Legal obligation |
| Keep records of completed jobs for accounting, insurance, and in case of a later dispute | Legal obligation, and our legitimate interests |
| Keep the site secure, spot abuse of our forms, and fix faults | Our legitimate interests in running the site safely |
| Measure how the site is used and how our advertising performs | Consent, through your cookie and browser settings |
We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your details to anyone.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics and Google Ads tracking. These set cookies in your browser and record which pages you visit, which buttons you press, and whether you started or completed the booking form. It tells us which parts of the site are working and which are not.
The booking form sends only anonymous signals to analytics, such as the step you reached and the size of job you selected. Your name, email, phone number, address, and postcode are never sent to Google. Those go to us by email and nowhere else.
You can turn tracking off in several ways:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser allows this, and it takes effect immediately.
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, which stops Analytics on every site, not just this one.
- Turn off ad personalisation in your Google account settings.
Blocking these cookies does not affect the booking form. It will still work normally.
Who else sees your information
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and the business. Each of them only receives what they need, and none of them are permitted to use your details for their own purposes.
| Provider | What they handle |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Website hosting and server logs |
| Cloudflare | Domain routing, protection against attacks, and storage of any photos you upload |
| Resend | Delivering your booking and enquiry to our inbox |
| Migadu | Hosting our email accounts |
| Tag Manager, Analytics, and Ads measurement |
We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with the Environment Agency in connection with waste records, or with our insurers and professional advisers if a claim is made.
Where your information is stored
Some of these providers store or process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or by an adequacy decision recognised by the UK government, so your information keeps the same protection it has here.
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Enquiries and quotes that did not become a booking | 12 months, then deleted |
| Photos uploaded through the booking form | 6 months after the clearance, then deleted |
| Records of completed jobs, including invoices | 6 years, which is the period we may need them for tax records and for any legal claim |
| Waste transfer notes | 2 years, as required of a registered waste carrier |
| Analytics records | Up to 14 months in Google Analytics, and not linked to your name |
You can ask us to delete your details sooner. Where we are legally required to keep a record, we will tell you which part we have to hold on to and why.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Stop or limit how we use it
- Send your information to you or another provider in a usable format
- Withdraw your consent to analytics and advertising cookies
Email hello@cleargo.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather hear from you first so we can put it right.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection, uploaded photos are stored in private storage that is not publicly listed, and access to our inbox is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, so if we ever discover a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office within the required 72 hours.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging a clearance. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, email us and we will remove them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. For anything significant, we will say so clearly rather than quietly editing the text.
